India emerged as two states after the fall of the British Raj. These were two independent states: Pakistan and India. In the beginning, the pre-existing currency coins and notes were used by both nations with the government of Pakistan’s stamp. After that, in 1948, new banknotes were issued by the state bank of Pakistan.
